School Supplies
The month before your child’s new session begins you will receive a Welcome Letter which will include a list of school supplies suggested for the session. Listed below you will find a few items that are always needed for each session and do not vary from one session to the next. Please reach out with questions or if you need assistance in obtaining these items for your child.
Summer Session
School Supplies Needed:
Family photo to add to our family photo display
One seasonally appropriate full outfit to leave at school in case clothes get wet/dirty from mud/water play etc.
Closed toe shoes for outdoor play: waterproof/water resistant is preferred, the brands Native or Crocs are excellent options because the mud and dirt easily rinse off, tennis shoes are a good option but could end up wet with water play
Mud/Rain suit or rain jacket and pants if a rainy day has cooler temperatures
Sweatshirt or jacket for cooler mornings: layers are great at a nature preschool
Optional: sun hat
Sunscreen: one spray-on bottle and one face stick, both items will be labeled with your child's name and will be used exclusively for them
If your child is a Full Day (8:00-3:30) or Extended Day (8:00-5:15) preschooler:
Lunch sack with ice pack
Pillow and blanket for rest time
Optional: stuffed animal for rest time
Swimsuit and towel for afternoon water play in the outdoor classroom
School Year Session
When our school year session begins you will learn more about our optional Outdoor Gear Rental Program. All families are welcome to rent any of the following three items from us for the school year. If you rent any of these items, your preschooler will always have clean, dry, and correct sizes of these items available to them:
Mittens - this includes warm winter mittens as well as lightweight mittens better suited for rainy/muddy days
Bogs boots which are appropriate for rain/mud in spring and fall, as well as cold winter months
Oaki mud suits to keep dry on rainy days and clothes a bit more clean on muddy play days
If you would like to purchase these items instead of renting, keep in mind that discount codes often become available in September for Bogs boots, Oaki mud suits, and other gear at oaki.com. You might want to wait until then to save on these essentials!

Weather appropriate outdoor clothing:
Closed toe shoes for outdoor play: tennis shoes, Crocs, Natives are good options
Mud/Rain boots: if using Bogs boots, these can serve as winter boots, as well
Warm, insulated winter boots
Wool/Smartwool Socks: tall socks are preferred when worn with boots since short ankle socks often slip down inside boots
Mud/Rain suit or rain jacket and pants
Sweatshirt/Fleece jacket/Windbreaker for spring and fall
Warm, insulated winter jacket with wind and waterproof outer layer
Warm snow pants: elastic at the base helps to keep snow pants down around boot, bib style is preferred for added warmth and protection from snow
Base layers for colder days
Warm hat covering ears plus neck warmer, or balaclava/face mask for the colder winter months
Lighter weight, waterproof mittens for warmer temperatures
Two pairs of warm, insulated mittens for colder temperatures
