School Supplies
One month before your child’s new session begins you will receive a Welcome Letter which will include a list of school supplies suggested for the session. Listed below you will find a few items that are always needed for each new session and do not vary from one session to the next. Therefore, if you prefer to prepare some things ahead of time, these are items you can gather now! You can gather the rest of the suggested school supplies when you receive your Welcome Letter. Please reach out with questions or if you need assistance in obtaining these items for your child’s preschool session.
Summer Session
School Supplies Needed:
Family photo to add to our family photo display
One seasonally appropriate full outfit to leave at school in case clothes get wet/dirty from mud/water play etc.
Sunscreen - one face stick + one spray-on sunscreen, these are labeled with your child’s name and used only for your child
Sweatshirt or jacket for cooler mornings - layers are great at a nature preschool!
Rain jacket or mud suit
Swimsuit for water play, running through the sprinkler
Towel
Closed toe shoes for outdoor play - waterproof/water resistant is preferred, the brands Native or Crocs are excellent options, tennis shoes are a good option but could end up wet with water play
If your child is a Full Day (8:00-3:00) or Extended Day (7:15-5:15) preschooler:
Lunch sack with ice pack
Pillow and blanket for rest time
Optional; stuffed animal for rest time
School Year Session
When our school year session begins you will learn more about our optional Outdoor Gear Rental Program. All families are welcome to rent any of the following three items from us for the school year. If you rent any of these items, your kiddo will always have clean, dry, and correct sizes of these items available to them:
Mittens - this includes warm winter mittens as well as mittens better suited for rainy/muddy days
Bogs boots which are appropriate for the rain and mud in spring and fall, as well as cold winter months
Oaki mud suits to keep dry on rainy days and clothes a bit more clean on muddy play days
If you choose to purchase these items rather than rent them, it is good to note that in the past we have received discount codes in
September for Bogs boots as well as for Oaki mud suits, and other gear, at oaki.com. If you are interested in these items, you may want to wait for a discount code in September!

Weather appropriate outdoor clothing:
Lighter weight jacket/sweatshirt for spring and fall
Mud boots and snow boots - if using Bogs boots, these can serve as both mud and snow boots
Rain gear - this could be a rain jacket and pants or Oaki mud suit
Warm winter jacket
Snow pants that are long enough to go down over boots, a great feature to have is elastic at the ankle to keep snow pants down over boots
Two pairs of warm mittens
Extra socks for colder days, tall socks stay on better than short socks when worn with boots
Face mask, or neck warmer, to cover cheeks during colder days
Winter hat that covers the ears
